A Painting for Every Season

Well, it’s been a minute since I last posted. I feel like I have finally crawled my way out of the winter doom and gloom.

As the weather warms and the green of nature settles in, I am rediscovering my sense of gratitude. Next cold and grey season, the goal is to practice more gratitude—even through the tough parts. Though, I should add, it’s not just about the weather. Remembering who you are, who you want to become, and where you want to go can also stir up deep emotions. I find that those darker seasons bring clarity about what I’m looking to change in my life. Change always seems to come in the spring, after the dust settles (or should I say, the snow). This year, however, my inner compass towards true north seems to have led me to something more than I expected. I’m working my way toward speaking my truth and finding confidence in my voice.

Anyway, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking season is here. Yay! Bring on the sun.

It’s always interesting how much mindset and mood can influence a painting. As I wrap up my twin bear painting, I’m looking forward to seeing what new emotions (and paintings) this fresh season brings.
